Recognize Excellence in Psychiatry: Nominate a Colleague Today!

Who has inspired you? The Alabama Psychiatric Physicians Association is now accepting nominations for several prestigious awards to honor members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of psychiatry. Our organization's success thrives on the dedication of our members who advance both practice and theory, demonstrate leadership, and create a sustainable impact in the psychiatric field.

This is your opportunity to acknowledge those colleagues who have made a difference in your life and in the psychiatric community.

At the bottom of this page, you’ll find a list of ways to nominate an APPA member. You can select one or more physicians for one or more categories. Please submit a separate nomination form for each nominee and award category. Nominations will be reviewed by the designated committee and recipients will be recognized at an APPA Meeting.

Award Categories
The Paul O’Leary Excellence in Service Award

Presented to a psychiatrist who has proven dedicated service to the profession of psychiatry and the community in Alabama through advocacy, leadership and excellent patient care.

APPA Educator of the Year Award

Presented to the psychiatrist who through any avenue available (academic education, research, mentorship, medical school education, media ect.) has proven a dedicated service to educating future psychiatrists and others in Alabama on mental health.

How to nominate a colleague: 

Choose one of the following methods to nominate an APPA member:

  • Fill out the online submission form HERE.
  • Download the nomination form and email it to cculpepper@alamedical.org
  • Mail the form to: Alabama Psychiatric Physicians Association at 19 S. Jackson St. Montgomery, AL 36104 to Carli Edwards attention.
